On Tuesday, April 3, the second season of the APT Women program finally kicked off! Over the three months until the end of June, participants will attend eight lecture-type programs, five event-type programs and refine their business plans through more than six private mentoring sessions. APT Women held a briefing session on the first Cohort Program and a kickoff event for the 2nd Cohort Program at the Tokyo International Forum from 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7, 2018. The event was attended by the governor of Tokyo, Yuriko Koike, who is the organizer of the event, along with 20 participants in the domestic and overseas dispatch programs of the first season, 10 participants in the second season programs who had won a very competitive screening, and many other visitors. On February 6 (Tue), we held a briefing session on the 2nd Cohort Program at Startup Hub Tokyo (Note 1), a base established in Marunouchi by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government for supporting those who are considering starting business. After finishing the Acceleration Program in Japan, we went through the program in New York, U.S., with the ten women entrepreneurs. We would like to explain here the outline of the Overseas Dispatch Program. As introduced previously, the destination of the first Dispatch Program was New York. The long-awaited APT Women 1st Cohort program was started on Tuesday, October 3. Participants will go through 12 lecture programs, six participatory events and more than six individual mentoring programs until the end of December.   On this day, the participants gathered for the first session and received an orientation on the entire program, made self-introductions and met accelerators. Some participants are not Tokyo-based, and they participate in the session online when they are unavailable to come to Tokyo. APT Women provides one accelerator for each startup. On September 29, 2017, at 6:00 pm, a commemorative APT Women 1st Cohort Program Kick-off Event was held at the Tokyo International Forum. The event was attended by Yuriko Koike, Tokyo Metropolitan Governor, 20 participants selected through a competitive examination process, and many others. At the kick-off event, the Administrative Office personnel gave a brief explanation on the program, followed by a speech by Governor Koike. She shared her experience attempting to start a new business and working hard to raise funds.
