Paving a New Path ~ What is Required for Entrepreneurs to Compete in the World ~
Acceleration Program in Tokyo for Women -The 5th Cohort Accomplishment Report Event-

In a world of unpredictable uncertainty, such as the spread of the new coronavirus and weather damage, there is a strong need for new products and services that fit into "the new normal".
APT Women supports female entrepreneurs who take this period of change as a chance to create a new future.
The women entrepreneurs from the 5th Cohort of the program have completed the domestic accelerator program and overseas program starting in Spetember 2020, and will present their new visions, unique business plans and other achievements during the term.
In addition, Ms. Mariko Tokioka, Founder and CEO of EastMeetEast, will talk about her own experiences and give a message to those who aim to start or expand their businesses under the title of "Paving a new path - What is Required for Entrepreneurs to Compete in the World".

The event will be held online (Zoom and YouTube) to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Ms. Mariko Tokioka

EastMeetEast Founder and CEO Ms. Mariko Tokioka

Ms. Mariko Tokioka is a seasoned serial entrepreneur with a track record of building technology businesses from concept to maturity. Quipper, an e-learning mobile app company which Mariko co-founded, was sold for $40 million in 2015. She is awarded the Forbes JAPAN WOMEN AWARD in 2019. She now serves as CEO and founder of EastMeetEast, a VC-backed Asian dating app. The investors include 500 Startups. She has appointed as a outside director of Asteria Corporation in 2019. She is also a mother of a 2-year-old.

Mariko enjoys being involved with the startup community outside of her role as a founder. She has served on the organizing committee of the Oxford Technology Network and a judge at VCIC, the International Venture Capital Investment Competition. Mariko holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and an MBA from Oxford University.

I believe that as each female entrepreneur grows through her business and makes an impact on society, the number of role models will increase and Tokyo will become the number one city in the world for female entrepreneurs. APT Women 4th and 5th Joint Pitch Event
~ Introducing 23 startups including lifestyle, deep-technology, communication and education areas ~

The number of participants of 4th and 5th program of APT Women, selected entrepreneurs from the Dell Women's Entrepreneur Network (Dell Women Entrepreneurs Network, DWEN) implemented by Dell, and finalist of the "DBJ Women's New Business Plan Competition" organized by the Development Bank of Japan Inc. will be on stage. APT Women is organized by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and is to provide women startups regarding the management knowledge, skills and networks necessary for scaling up and expanding overseas.
This is a great opportunity to listen to the pitches from 23 startups in the fields of lifestyle, deep-technology, communication and education.
