Shienjuku, Ltd. CEOYuriko Otani

Born in 1963. After graduating from Kyoto Notre Dame University, Yuriko Otani joined Yoshimoto Kogyo Co., Ltd. She was the manager of the late Yasushi Yokoyama. She is known as a “legendary female manager” who introduced many famous comedians to the nation, including Daisuke and Hanako Miyagawa, and Kozue and Midori Wakai.

In March 2003, 26 shareholders each invested a million yen to found Shienjuku in support of her ambition to “cheer up Japan.” Her unique human resources development method using comedy was covered by many TV shows, including NHK Special and Yomiuri TV’s News ten., as well as by the Nikkei and other newspapers. In March 2016, she obtained a master’s degree from Hosei Graduate School of Regional Policy Design. Today, she actively supports companies and local governments in “independent and autonomous” human resources development.
Her motto is to develop sensible, attentive and proactive human resources.
