Graduated from the University of Tokyo, Faculty of Law, in 1987. Registered as a lawyer in 1989. Graduated from University College London (LL.M.) in 1995. Joined TMI Associates as a partner in 2000. He is the Director of the Healthcare IoT Consortium. He has worked as the visiting lecturer for the Chuo Graduate School of Strategic Management since 2008 (visiting professor since 2013). He was a professor at the Graduate School for Law and Politics of the University of Tokyo (2016-2018). He founded the Venture Lab Legal Firm in 2019.
